Methodology and Scoring Criteria
How Accessibility is Scored Across Ten Australian Houses
Our ranking evaluates Australian casino hotels exclusively on physical location, transport connections, published parking details, data transparency, and onward route connections. We apply a weighted 100-point framework to standardise evaluations across all state jurisdictions.

The Five Accessibility Criteria and Point Allocations
Navigating Australia's geographically distant integrated resorts requires a standardized metric. Rather than evaluating gaming floors or leisure amenities, our methodology focuses entirely on arrival logistics, parking transparency, geographic setting, venue disclosures, and transit connections between interstate properties.
Every venue starts with a maximum baseline of 100 points, distributed across five distinct evaluation criteria:
- Airport Distance and Public Transport (30 points): Evaluates the physical distance in kilometres from the primary domestic or international airport serving the city, along with the immediate availability of public transit links such as heavy rail, light rail, high-frequency bus lines, or passenger ferries. Properties situated closer to major aviation hubs or directly integrated into city transit networks score highest.
- Parking as Published (20 points): Assesses the availability, scale, and clarity of parking disclosures provided directly by the operating venue. Points are awarded for overall bay capacity, clear height clearance listings, valet accessibility, dedicated pick-up zones, and published free parking conditions for membership cardholders.
- Setting and Walkability (20 points): Measures the hotel's immediate pedestrian environment, including its proximity to the central business district, civic landmarks, waterfront foreshores, and walkable footbridges or rail concourses.
- Transparency of Disclosures (15 points): Examines the depth and precision of primary venue publications. Higher scores reflect properties that publish exact room counts, detailed transportation guides, clear operating hours, and comprehensive contact records without relying on unverified third-party sources.
- Onward Regional Routes (15 points): Assesses how efficiently a guest can travel from the property to other casino-hotels within the same state or across interstate corridors. Venues situated along primary highway corridors like the Pacific Highway or connected via direct capital-to-capital air connections receive higher regional mobility scores.

Handling Primary and Secondary Data Sources
When gathering spatial and travel metrics, published disclosures vary considerably between casino operators and regional transport bodies. Our methodology enforces strict data hierarchy rules to ensure complete factual integrity across every hotel profile on this site.
Primary Venue Publications
Information sourced directly from an operator's official domain, annual reports, regulatory filings, or municipal transit authority pages is treated as high-confidence primary data. This includes official street addresses, parking entry locations, registered operator entities, and direct station connections such as Adelaide Railway Station or the L1 Dulwich Hill light rail line.
Secondary and Secondary Distance Figures
Where a venue does not explicitly publish a specific distance metric—such as the exact transit distance from Melbourne Airport to Southbank or Perth Airport to Burswood—we utilize secondary spatial records, including government geographical surveys, municipal maps, or encyclopedic press archives. When secondary figures are used, they are explicitly designated as such within the text ("by secondary sources" or " secondary"). Where no reliable distance figure exists in primary or secondary records, we omit numeric guesses entirely and describe the route using established highway corridors, pointing directly to official state road authorities.
Unverified Data and Missing Disclosures
If an operator fails to publish essential property data—such as individual room totals, parking hourly schedules, or detailed casino floor sizes—we do not fill the gaps with estimations from memory or unverified third-party booking engines. The profile plainly states that the resort does not publish the figure, ensuring readers can easily distinguish between verified operator disclosures and unconfirmed estimates.
Editorial Independence and Financial Transparency
This desk operates completely independent of all casino operators, hotel owners, and state gambling regulatory bodies, including the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission, the NSW Independent Casino Commission, and the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation. No venue can pay to alter its position in our accessibility ranking, nor can operators purchase customized scores or suppressed disclosures.
Our business model relies on affiliate referral commissions generated when users complete room reservations through official partner links or direct hotel booking portals. Commission rates are standardized and have zero influence on how accessibility scores are calculated or how transportation facts are reported. The Role of the Navigator Desk
Planning multi-state road itineraries or complex domestic transit connections across Australia can present unexpected logistical challenges. Our dedicated desk provides tailored route planning assistance for travelers navigating between capital city properties, coastal resorts, and regional venues.
The desk assists with:
- Mapping efficient driving corridors along major routes, such as the 790 km Pacific Highway between Sydney and Brisbane or the 350 km coastal drive between Cairns and Townsville.
- Comparing airport transfers, rail connections, and passenger ferry services such as the Spirit of Tasmania cross-Bass Strait crossing.
- Checking published hotel room categories, accessible room layouts, and verified parking arrangements prior to travel.
We do not collect credit card details or process payments directly. All final bookings are completed securely on official venue websites. To review common highway itineraries, explore road and air routes between houses, or submit your travel dates to plan a route with the desk directly.
